When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.

CLICK HERE TO SEE KAYLA WITHOUT THE SNOW: [link] Kayla sniffled, the cold air and bitter wind chilling her to the bone. "How could they have done this?" she thought to herself, lifting her hooves wearily through the heavy snow. She had asked this question over and over as she trudged through the never-ending mass of snow. She knew the humans would have to make sacrifices, but little did she realize that she would be the one they left behind. They had arrived by ship - she remembered the excitement of it all - how the team hoped to discover new lands and how she would help them do so. She would carry their provisions and they were depending on her to lead them to habitable ground. The land was hostile and bleak when they arrived, but she was determined to lead them onward through the uncharted territory. She was a strong horse with a thick coat, the perfect choice for adventuring through an arctic environment. Eight days into the trek however, the scenery did not change and the humans started to fear they would perish in this frozen wasteland. The provisions started to run low and the humans knew they had to turn back. Talking amongst themselves, Kayla wondered what was going on and she sensed the panic and sadness in the human's voices. After a time, the four explorers finally turned to Kayla and looked at her sorrowfully. Without saying a word, one of the men silently unbuckled the provisions bag she carried across her back and passed it to a teammate. This same man turned back to face her, looking deeply into her icy blue eyes. "I'm sorry, Kayla" he whispered, his voice barely audible in the increasing high wind. As he turned away from her, she realized what was going on but she did nothing as she watched the team turn around and walk away, their shapes finally disappearing into the thick blizzard. There was silence all around her except for the piercing howl of the wind... For a while she stood there in that spot and lost all sense of time, just staring into the space where the humans had been. She was heartbroken, but she loved the humans and knew they had done everything they could to survive. If they had taken her back to the ship, the whole team would have perished. Eventually she came to her senses and knew she had to find food and shelter if she was going to survive out here in this strange, frozen land. She trudged on, but the loneliness and hunger finally started to take it's toll and she felt an icy tear roll down her cheek. Would she die out here? She lowered her head and wept, not noticing that her surroundings had finally shown some sign of life. As she cried, a lone horse stepped out from the darkness and Kayla looked up; startled by the vision of this strange stallion. He was yellow in appearance, with a creamy mane and tail and he shone like a beacon through the falling snow. Kayla looked deeply into his brown eyes and opened her mouth to speak, but no sound came out as she finally collapsed to the ground in exhaustion. The stallion, who went by the name of Strane, cared for Kayla and nursed her back to health in his homeland. The two horses bonded and shared a love deeper than Kayla could ever have dreamed of, and after a time the herd, which would later become known as the Arctic Herd, was born. It was then that Kayla finally knew she was home... Hope you liked it, Fresca! I wanted to write a short story to make up for the fairly simplistic picture. We had a power cut as I was about an hour and a half into the original background and I lost it all.
